1. What Cookies Are

1.1Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use them only where they are needed, as described below.

2. The Three Contexts (Marketing Site, App, and Redirect Path)

2.1The marketing site (hoist.cc public pages): we use strictly necessary cookies and, only with your consent, Google Analytics 4 cookies to understand how people use the site. We do not run invasive cross-site advertising trackers.

2.2The app (your dashboard): we use essential/authentication cookies that maintain your signed-in session after you log in with your email and password. These are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and operate the Service; without them the app will not function.

2.3The redirect path (when someone clicks a hoist): we do not set tracking cookies on the redirect path, and we do not store IP addresses. Click (“lift”) analytics are derived only from hosting/CDN headers (country, coarse city, device type, OS, browser, referrer hostname) and are not tied to a tracking cookie or to any personally identifiable information about the visitor.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

3.1Strictly necessary cookies — authentication/session, security and core functionality. Always active.

3.2Preference cookies — remember settings such as your interface choices.

3.3Analytics cookies (consent-based, marketing site only) — Google Analytics 4 cookies that measure aggregate site usage. We do not use these on the redirect path.

About our analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find Hoist and how they use it. It tells us which pages people visit, which referrals bring people to us, and where visitors drop out of signing up. We use it to make the product and the site better. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not send Google Analytics your name, email address, password, payment details, or the destination URLs of your hoists.

The two Google Analytics cookies above are first-party cookies: they are set on the hoist.cc domain and are readable only by us and by Google as our processor. We have also enabled Google signals, which means that where a signed-in Google user has consented in their own Google account settings, Google may use its own advertising cookies alongside these. How we decide the default

Our banner uses Google Consent Mode. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, analytics and advertising cookies are switched off by default. Nothing is stored on your device and Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals until you accept. If you visit from anywhere else, they are switched on by default and you can turn them off at any time.

Changing your mind

You can change your cookie choice at any time using the control below. Your new choice takes effect immediately and applies to future page views. You can also clear cookies directly in your browser, or block them entirely using your browser's settings — though blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from staying signed in to Hoist.

4. Managing Cookies

4.1You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in to or using the app.

5. Changes

5.1We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Last Updated” date.
